Canadian Peat with plenty of Perlite for airation of the roots. Our mix has NO wetting agent(chemical) or start up fertalizer(could be a man made Urea...yuk) We amend the mix with ONLY food grade sea kelp MEAL...Canadian also.
Fafard of Canada does this for us for the past 9 years!
It is about three times more costly than conventional grow mixes(home depot, scotties, lowes etc.) But worth it.
Covering the berries during hot and humid weathercan promote MOLD! The grow kit with 8 trays I shipped to Virgina today...weighed 62 pounds. Check the total weight of other grow kits....we at at Drelichwheatgrass.com and think the price is resonable....although UPS ground charged almost $30.oo to ship it.
Check out the INDOOR grown wheatgrass picture in the gallery. I do not reccomend dirct sunlight...we are now in the shorter days of the year....and much more defused light IS needed. Canada is the most difficult plece to grow wheatgrass....lots of sun....but the light is not very intense.
Eat well...Stay GREEN and BE Healthy!
Gone fishing!
