kamut, the original wheat
If any of you growers out there are interested, I just found an excellent supplier of Kamut seed. I like to grow different kinds of grasses, including hard spring wheat, Kamut, and barley grass. I have had the hardest time for the past three years trying to find a good sprouting Kamut seed. I finally found one that sprouts as well as my hard spring wheat, which is damn good (the best I've found so far)! If anyone is looking for Kamut, try montanaflour.com they are actually the licensed distributor for the United states (I'm not sure where to get the same quality seed in Canada, but presumbably you can find out at Kamut.com to find the distributor for the great white north). They sell the trademarked and protected Kamut, so it is guaranteed to be organic, non-hybrid, and free from any and all genetic tampering. They don't have an internet ordering system up there, so you have to call them on the phone to get pricing information, and then send them a check in the mail (the old fashioned way). They are courteous and fast, and as I've said, the seed is the best I've found.
Happy sprouting!
The Dave
