Barely Grass -The oldest Grain in the World

The origins of Barely can be traced back to 18,000 B.C.
Did you know that even in prehistoric times, grain was dried and roasted? Roasted Barely from the Ice Age has been discovered as well as the ancient Egyptians and Greeks all cultivated grain.

According to legend the Goddess Isis brough the people on the Nile Grains of barely from Lebanon, and it was even called "the holy gift of the gods" Greek coins show the ears and stalks of barely. Romain gladiators were called "Hordearii" (barely eaters) and went on strike when the barely rations were to be shortened during a war.

Kamut was found...

In a Egyptian Pyramid....9 grains of the wheat.were found...People developed the seeds and now have a Patent on them....which should run out soon...THEN the priceless seeds will not be sold at the patronizing price they charge for them anymore.

Barley Grass (Hordeum vulgare) was probably the first cereal grain to be cultivated by man. The cultivation of Barley was well advanced when writing was developed, and written crop reports have been found in Egypt that date back to 2440 B.C. Barley was a sacred grain to he Egyptians and Greeks. The Chinese were cultivating Barley in 2,000 B.C. Barley was one of the first crops planted in the colony of Virginia in 1611.

I use a food garden product called Ant Perfect Life contains wheat grass and perhaps barley grass, too and it explains on its website. Grasses are among the richest food sources of nutrients in the riches of nature. All of us should eat more.
