How much wheatgrass juice will I get out of a tray?
You should get about 8 to 14 ounces per tray. This will depend on how well the tray grew. How much moisture is in the wheatgrass when you juice the wheat grass. If the tray of wheatgrass is moist it will yield more juice than if the wheatgrass has dried out. T
he yield will also depend on the quality of wheatgrass juicer that you have. A wheatgrass juicer will yield more juice than a juicer that is mult-purpose. If your juicer does not have an outlet screw at the end where the pulp comes out, you may lose an excessive amount of juice with the pulp. If your pulp comes out bone dry, then your wheatgrass juicer is an efficient machine. If your pulp is coming out wet, you are losing a lot of juice. |

Hi,
I am using a 14 x 10 inch seed tray, with a compost peat mix seed growing soil. (non organic) My grass is not very thick and I did not water before cutting. There wrere no signs of mould present. I used 250 gms seed (1.5 cups) and sprouted the seeds for 3 days prior to planting. I sprinkled seeds over soil but did not cover with extra soil as this was the method advised by my seed producer. The grass was around 6 inches high when harvesting. Note: on subsequent cutting (24hrs later) I washed the grass first and got a higher yeild, same on third day and got slightly higher yield again. Total of just over 6 ozs per tray!! Welcome any more help form you guys!! Cheers |

I would bet.......
I am draining 200 pounds of Hard Red Spring wheat berries as I write you this note. First try soaking your berries for about 8 hours. Let them sprout for 24 hours. Plant them. ////////Note: Sometimes by OVERSPROUTING the seeds. the new roots get long ...and then BREAK off from the berrie. MIGHT be your problem since you mention sprouting them for 3 days...before you are planting. ////////////Also what do you amend your growing mix with? We use FOOD GRADE Sea Kelp Meal here....and if you use too much it can retard the growth of the wheatgrass. /////////Under soak the berries in the warmer months....and soak up to 24 hours in the COLD months. Softer berries are more prone to molding. Always grow using REAL defused sunlight.....grow lights will never give you "Chi"! Our 9th year....Good Luck. Stay GREEN and BE Healthy!
