Best nutrients and grow system

This is my first post. I have never grown wheatgrass before. In looking at a few internet sites, it seems that the quality of the soil (growing medium?) and nutrients added dramatically affect the quality of the wheatgrass. I'll be growing indoors, so sunlight is not an option. A product by the Sundance company called The Vertical Garden was reccomended. It's a bit pricey and I'm very handy, so I was wondering if there were any similar do-it-yourself plans to build something similar were available?One site that I looked at suggested using soil and organic compost containg "naturally occuring aerobic bacteria".
Any opinions would be helpful.

But defussed or intermitant Natural; sunlight helps to get an advanced CHI factor(Energy)....that just will not happen to your artifcial endeaver using Grow Lights.

You post sounds like your environment is RESTRICTED....But I told you any whay/////The juice may taste great...go down smoothly.....But the effects you are looking for will not be there.

Use a soil or soiless grow mix...with plenty of Perlite...( airated the roots.) When it is hot and humid MOISTURE is your enemy ...Promotes rot and molding.

NEVER use animal excrament.....Ecoli and Salmonella potential.

Vermicute and humus promote moisture retention....skip them also.

Keep it basic and simple.

My 9 th year....we do sell everything you need ....but buy what you want any where.

Getting started is important....remember ...too much not enough and JUST RIGHT for your climate...location...water...grow ingridients...type of seed( I use Hard Red SPRING Certified organic SPROUTING SEEDS( berries). Hard Red winter wheat is applicable but a cereal or grain will not produce a consistant crop....cleaned 4 times (no other seeds in it and stones and debire are removed) SPROUTING seeds are cleaned 3 time.....less handleing. BETTER>
