Soil-less mediums
Hi all,
Does any one have any advice on using either vermiculite or perlite as a growing medium ! Perhaps with a kelp solution added. Conditions would generally be coolish ....... |

Loook Around The Forum......
Perlite is a GREAT additive when growing wheatgrass.....keeps the roots healthy and helps to PREVENT over watering.
UNLESS you are in a very dry arid area....vermiculite can CAUSE too much moisture. Helping roots to rot and start up subterainial MOLD....be careful...NOT too much if at all. I have grown ALL my fresh wheatgrass for the past 9 years in a soliess custom mix produced for us by Fafard...from Canada. And use a FOOD GRADE Kelp MEAL...not liquid. Enjoy your grownmg endeaver. |
