all i know is that you CAN grow your own wheatgrass, there is a different thread on how to do it, that you've posted in... so obviously yes. I would guess that you can get seeds for it at any plant store... Earl may and some others... idk tho

You can order wheatgrass seed online from sproutman.com and also from wheatgrasskits.com

Sproutman has excellent hard red spring wheat, their kamut seed wasn't so good.

I got some nice sprouting seeds from:

waltonfeed.com

I was very happy with the seeds and the price.

As I am a Latter Day Saint (Mormon), I have tried sprouting wheat from food storage, but have found that that some of the older seeds do not sprout at all. I always do a small test on any wheat source, to make sure they sprout. I have heard that you can get wheat from feed stores, but I have not done this. I have also sprouted sucessfully wheat from the LDS Canner in Denver that I picked up for about $5 for 25 pounds, other canneries can be found at:

providentliving.org/content/display/0,11666,2007-1-1119-1,00.html

I do not consider myself a "Purest" when it comes to the source of the seeds. I believe you should be able to sprout and also make flour from the same wheat. I am sure, however, that there are various opinions on this matter.

Hope this helps.

Some knowledge.....

A good Certified Organic SPROUTING berrie(seed) is never treated with any pestatcides(chemicals) or has any PROTECTIVE chemicals to prevent bugs from investing the crop. MANY people are hypoallergenic to these type of seeds when injesting their wheatgrass juice.

ALSO>>>A sprouting berrie grown for SPROUTING (Not cereal or grain for bread) is only cleaned 3 times....not 4. (less handleing, better germination.

I buy a pallet of certified organic sprouting seeds at a time (50 1 lb bags.)...9 years ago they COST my about $18.50 a bag.......NOW they cost me about $30.oo a bag!!! WHOLESALE.

If you are paying $10.oo for 50 pounds as you say.....Not only would I question the quality of the seeds....but possibly what they are treated with???

Drelichwheatgrass.com Our 9th year! ps.

Most people grow with Hard Red Winter wheat...WE here PREFER Hard Red SPRING.

Waltonseed.com....Seems to be .....

Legitamate about TESTING their seeds for chemicals on their website.

But still Cereal or gran is different than Sprouting seeds. With the seeds bought anywhere it is important to buy THEM organically certified.

I purchased some sea weed extract that when mixed with water makes a concentrate to mix with more water. I believe the couple of ounces of dried sea weed makes 250 galons of mix. How often should I water my wheatgrass with this mix?

I could not answer that question.....

BECAUSE here we use ONLY Food Grade Sea Kelp MEAL....From Canada.
Liquids are processed much more....the meal is a basic natural form.

Have tried Norwegian...Taste test with 12 people ...all said it changed the taste to a negative reaction.

American is MUCH cheaper....still not my preference.

YOU like the liquid.....Do it to it.
