Vita-Mix

I have an Omega 8005 juicer and it works great for wheatgrass as of now. I am considering purchasing a Vita-Mix blender.

I've read that we can't eat wheatgrass whole because our bodies cannot digest it, so we must juice it to obtain the nutrients. Apparently Vita-mix's breakdown foods so the body can get all the nutrients from whatever is being blended.

That said, if I got a Vita-Mix blender, could I put wheatgrass in the blender and grind it down to drink it? Could my body digest it because it is so broken down? (since juicing alone does not get all of the nutrients from the grass, or even any fruit/vegetable that is juiced because nutrients are left in the pulp). If this would work I could get more nutrients from the wheatgrass.

Thanks

Think about Live and DEAD Foods......

The 8005 Omega rotates at only 80-0- R.P.M's a minute.

The Vita-Mix runs t THOUSANDS of R.P.M.'s per minute! You can make HOT soup with it!

FRICTION>>>>Kills LIVE active enzimes.

It is an essential ingridient in FRESH wheatgrass JUICE.

COOKED...frozen..... freeze-dried......or powedered will NEVER replace ANYTHING that is FRESH and put into your body.

Mother Nature says so.....not me.

The word HEALTH has the word HEAL in it.

The majority of the peoplle in this counrty are getting the remedy....not the cure.

In China you pay the doctor when you are WELL!.....You pay him NOTHING when you are sick.

Think about it!

Thanks for the reply.

I understand that heat destroys the nutrients. What if I put ice
in with the wheatgrass in the Vita-Mix? That would keep it cool,
preserving the nutrients, right???

I'm curious if my body would be able to digest more nutrients from
the wheatgrass because it would be broken down so well in the
blender. Any thoughts???

Thanks again.

Someone......

In your family may have invented the first wheel.

Friction in any form will create heat....If ice can prevent that from happening....TRY it.

QUESTION>>>>Why do people want to take a simple concept....and ALWAYS try to make it better......or FASTER.....

Suggestion.....Take a knife and cutting board and just CUT the wheatgrass into fine pieces.....put it into your salad or whatever....and eat it......?

Thanks again for your reply.

In regards to your question, I don't see anything wrong with trying to make a process better, it would be ignorant in my opinion to not do something in the most efficient manner.

In this case with the Vita-Mix, I would like to use it because I thought I could get more nutrients from the grass (so that no nutrients are going to waste in the pulp). So if better means getting more vitamins, minerals etc. from the wheatgrass that I'm investing my time to grow, then I will gladly take
the 'better,' more effecient way. Since we juice wheatgrass for the nutrients it
contains.

Have a great day.

The Omega 8005 seems to do......

a great job extractling the juice.....You have one.

Why not injest the pulp from the machine?

Try to light one candle and see what I mean.

Hang in there.......better days ARE coming!

If you wish to make grass juice with the vita mix you will need a nut milk bag.To get the highest yield a press is needed to extract the juice or you can just squeeze it with your hands. The high power blender will break down the grasses structure to the micron level. This cant be achieved with the best juicers on the market.Using ice to keep it well chilled is a good way to blend grass juice.Good luck and happy blending.

The Norwalk hydraulic juice press.Designed by Dr. Norman Walker is an exellant juicer thats verrrry expensive and high maintenance.I was actually thinking of the Welles press which is resonably priced and does a good job of extracting stage 2 juice.I found some good sunflower seeds at a good price at nutsonline.com.Ill be trying them out next week to see how good a germination rate they have.Happy growing sprouts rule.

Vitamix and wheatgrass...

I have both the Vitamix machine and the Champion juicer. I juice organic apples, carrots and ginger using the Champion juicer then put this juice into the Vitamix with ice, strawberries and wheatgrass. Works beautifully. No need to let the Vitamix blender heat up your juice...10 seconds at the highest speed will not get anywhere close to destroying the nutritional value of the food....So go ahead with the Vitamix.

Thank you Patricia,

Finding out that it is SAFE to make juice with a champion juicer(1,750 RPM) and then blend it in a Vita Mix(travels at the speed of light so to speak). Is refreshing.

Myself? I'll stick to the 80-90 RPM that The OMEGA 8005 and MOST of the other Wheatgrass juicers provide. Call me :
"Old fashioned"

Zoom ......ZOom .....ZOOM! With my truck...not my juicing!

Blindguru make juice with a blender on youtube.com?He makes grass juice along with several other videos on blending. There a bit comical but worth looking at what type of Vita mix do you have?I have a Vita prep 3 and use it daily to maximize nutrient uptake.

Friction-enzymes-vitamix

The vitamix is a great blender for wheat grass. the friction does not "burn" the enzymes. the enzymes get "burn" at 118 degrees, the vitamix juices wheatgrass in under 60 seconds. it does not get that hot in 60 seconds. hope this helps

I could NEVER compare the power of the vita mix...

To the Omega 8005....

But ECONOMICALLY The Omega runs about $250.oo or less With a 10 year warremty...and they Back it up. 800 633 3401 ask fro Jeff Long.

And I know that JJ43(the twister) drives only BMW's so paying between (and they have 3 models) $370.oo to about $650.oo for a home Juicer is VERY resonable for him. And you get a 7 year warrenty and the feature of BUYING an extened warrenty also....Just like the BMW car.

Tha'st GREAT......Vita Mix DOES make a kick ass juicer....no doubt.

Eat FRESH and Stay GREEN and BE HEalthy!

Thumb's down to Freeze-dried ...FROZEN and Powdered Wheatgrass...

Life begats LIFE!

Sorry...If this is different question for you all people here. What is the need of extracting the juice, what will you do with that? Please answer this. I am asking this out of curiosity.

Vitamix 5200 from Costco

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum! I got my Vitamix 5200 last year from Costco and I am blown away by how incredible it is. I use it just about every day now. I can't believe I can make my own ice cream!!! and almond milk. The vegetable cocktails are amazing. I'm developing a product that has to do with Vitamix. Send me any question you have related to the Vitamix blender and I'll send you a free copy of the product when it is finished. I want to make sure I answer everyone's questions! Really excited to hear your responses.

1/2 cup (75 g) pineapple
1/2 cup wheat grass
1/2 cup (120 ml) water
1 cup (240 ml) ice
1. Place all ingredients into the Vita-Mix container and secure two-part lid.
2. Select VARIABLE, Speed #1.
3. Turn machine ON and quickly increase to VARIABLE #10 and then

The Vitamix has a unique ability to break through the cell walls of green smoothie ingredients and turn those greens into a smoothie, which is, well, smooth treatment Vitamix communicated taste fabulous, offering a drink that is incredibly smooth and creamy, and makes the valuable nutrients more bioavailable.
