Time limit for soaking, sprouting wheat
I grew and juiced wheatgrass for about 3 months. suddenly one day I saw mold at the base of the grass. There was milky liquid in the seed. My son probably took this moldy juice for some time and developed reaction. After discussing it at this forum I came to know about the mold and after that I threw the soil. Now I am planning to start afresh. Please guide me as to how long I should soak and then sprout the seeds so that I don't get mold. will deep pots be better than tray to avoid mold?

8 - 12 hours is ideal for soaking

8-12 hours...does it depend on the temperature? Is there an optimal temperature that will allow for maximum sprouting but yet minimize the chance for mold? I would be willing to make a sprouting chamber to control these variables if I knew what they were.

I was told 12 hours, then drain and make sure have air circulation until planted in trays.
