Digestibility of grass?
Hi, I am new to wheat grass juicing. I saw some at my local health food store and purchased it. I then looked on Youtube for info on how to juice it where I saw a man using a Vitamix. He blended it with 1cup ice and 1cup water and then strained it through a cheese cloth into a glass, leaving the pulp or fibers. He seemed to have a lot of pulp left in his cheesecloth. I tried this with my $200.00 Healthmaster food emulsifier and it just clogged it up. Then I put it into my little $40.00 Ninja I got at Wal-Mart, and it blended it so fine that I had VERY LITTLE pulp; barely enough to strain. I had heard that humans can not digest the fibers of grass so I was a little concerned about drinking it. I did drink it and I had little upset stomach, but I drank it on an empty stomach and had nothing to eat for several hours. I have noticed that most WG juicers squeeze or press the grass leaving the pulp. Since I am new, I do not know if I should get one of those squeeze juicers or if I could just stay with my Ninja that seem to work fine. Does anyone know if digesting the pulp that has been pulverized is O.K. I need to know because I am hoping to do this long term as I loved the result. T.M.I. P.S. I also noticed I had a great BM from the fibrous brew.
