All of you nice Wheatgrass people!
first of all, i need to say that i'm a quiet user here. and i've been here long enough to read most of the stuff here.
I registered now because i have to ask something very vital to me. I have been growing at home and drinking on a daily basis, in the morning, about 2 oz a day of fresh wheatgrass for about 2 and a half months (except for saturdays when i don't drink at all) . I grow it indoors so i have mold covering mildly the ground of the planter. I drink it right after juicing it, and use the pulp to heal my mom's fungal thingy in her toe and the rest of it - to clean my face. I neet to ask u guys something. Except for the first day of drinking it - i had never felt any side effects. and i eat a lot of garbage and not a lot of vegetables, i'm not fat but i have a little tummy. i'm 24 years old, don't exercise at all. But, and that's my question - i don't feel energized throughout the day, i mean, i need to take little naps during the day (10-20 mins) to overcome the fatigue, which is normal for me. but i thought the wheatgrass would change that. Second - i live in Israel so it's pretty hot here - and i think that has some effect on me - and maybe that is what makes me tired. I'm doing my school's finals now, and it effects my study, so i wanna know if it is the weather only that makes me tired - or maybe i'm going through some cleansing period - and that's why i'm still not that changed. I wanted to know for how long can that period last for a person like me. it's just that- i don't feel changed at all. and maybe if i do - it's for the worst (i get more tired). i wanted to tell u also about my mom's toe. which was very infected with fungus and after two and a half months - there is no fungus outside the nail. only inside. it destroyed more than 3/4 of it!!! i'm looking for an answer desperately! thank u very much!! |

So here goes.
Wheatgrass can overcome bad habits but to do so, it needs to be used in large amounts (as in 10 fl. oz.). It would also normally be used throughout the course of the day. That said, it would be reckless to suggest increasing usage without adjusting those habits you mentioned. Less juice will be needed if you lighten the daily burden by getting a little exercise and eating other foods that lead to good body chemistry. Here is a link to an article about complementary foods: http://www.dynamicgreens.com/wheatgr...ml?x=benefits5 What you are currently saying is that use of the juice actually makes you feel a little worse. This can occur in detoxing and fatigue is something that can present. That said, it usually lasts only a short period of time (for most 1 week tops). You can read exactly what detoxing means here: http://www.dynamicgreens.com/how-to-...detoxification My gut reaction is that you are not detoxing. Rather, it makes me think there may be an underlying problem that you have not addressed yet and I'm specifically speaking about blood sugars or possibly digestive track issues. Both of these issues can improve with wheatgrass juice and simply using more juice might be the correct answer. Since we are health enthusiasts, not professionals, I suggest you engage a Naturopathic Doctor or other professional for their opinion. If there is a digestive link, issue, it also could be as simple as adding a little probiotic to your diet. Good luck!

One other quick note, the mold won't be doing you any favors. Do what you can to eliminate it. While you may not be experiencing the common mold issues (headaches, nausea, dizziness, purging) it really can't be helpful.

i have mold
it changes from week to week, oddly enough.
one week it can be blue - like real blue mold that looks like a little sea-weed. one week it can be total white. like silk. and it spreads rapidly. one week it can be like tiny tiny black berries on a white silky bedding. But - i cut 1 cm above the ground, so there isn't any mold on the grass - i'm checking it after every cut. AND i wash the grass before i juice it. so i don't have any mold on it. i'm taking your advice Derek - i'm gonna run a blood test. Thank u again for answering. And yet - if i could hear more opinions? i have no idea why people are not responding - i thought this forum is packed with people who drink it for some time now. I'm sure that even hearing of people experiences can help. it's a shame.. GOOD DAY! Last edited by shahar24 : 06-15-2010 at 06:13 AM. |
