Difference between Tray Grown and Field Grown Wheatgrass?

What is the difference between Tray Grown and Field Grown Wheat Grass?

Nutritionally speaking there is actually a quite a difference. First of all, any wheat grass is good for you. However, tray-grown wheatgrass is quickly grown typically in water or thin soil and usually harvested in 7 to 11 days. Its rapid growth cycle produces simple sugars. People generally drink the tray-grown juice for therapeutic reasons and it’s purported energy boost.

Wheat Grass is grown outdoors, which has the most ideal climate. It is grown over 200 days through the winter. The visible grass grows very little until the spring, but the roots grow deep in our organic soil and have all winter to absorb the abundance of nutrients in the mineral rich organic soil. In fact, wheat Grass has every nutrient the human body needs to survive, except vitamin D, which is produced naturally by your skin from sunlight. It is known that a vegetables nutritional content is a direct result of the soil where they are grown. The optimal soil helps explain the abundance of minerals and nutrients in wheat Grass.

Compared to "vegtables"?

To my understanding if you grew wheatgrass in your hand....and then juiced it you would still have the benifits. The "Organic" people are now asking the growers to use a "soiless mix" if possible. It seems that ecoli and salminela are more prefelant in composted mixes that use manure and other substanmces that make the soil..."Richer". The past 8 years I have grown all my fresh wheatgrass in a Canadian Peat and Perlite mix.....2.8 cu ft. now cost me more than $11.00 a bag! THEN we amend the soiless mix with Food Grade Sea Kelp MEAL...not a liquid. 10...50 pound bags are now almost $500.oo. And I buy it 4 times a year. I was a certified "organic " grower for 3 years in a row...Now I do not pay to use a WORD. But we do grow to the highest standards that adding purerified and filtered water and "Certified Organic" Hard Red SPRING Wheat Sprouting Berries will let us. Our FOUR Secret ingridients are on EVERY label....PLUS the cut date and location. I could be growing each crop and NOT use these ingridients...and make TWICE the profit from each crop.....I think NOT!
