Consuming wheatgrass on a regular basis is healthy for one main reason. It's a high alkaline product and when you consume green drinks which are high in alkaline properties they have an amazing effect on your body.
Now I'm no doctor or someone you just want to blindly listen to, but in a nutshell here's what all this means. Your body has what's called a P.H. balance, and there are two sides to this coin. Alkaline and Acid. When your body is in a high acid state, you have less energy, you can feel sluggish and you may start to see excess body fat. Here's what happens inside, your blood cells have a negative charge on them which prevents them from sticking together, and when your body is high in acid, the acid strips the charge off those cells and causes them to stick together and in turn slows your blood. What your body does at this point to protect itself, is to store the excess acid in fac cells, (this is actually what you see as cellulite) to protect your body. See the PH balance is very important and it needs to be at a certain level. You can research this to see what it should be at. Anyways, if your body has too much acid in it, you can die. Here's where the other side of that coin comes in, and where Wheatgrass among other green consumables. The alkaline state of your body is awesome, the higher it is the better you'll feel. You'll have more energy, your body will shed the excess (acid which is stored in fat cells) and you will reach a normal level. When your body is in a more alkaline state, it starts to flush out the excess acid, (IMPORTANT: IF you start drinking green drinks to flush your system, be sure to drink lots of water so the detox phase is easier on you and your body ) This really gets into a much larger topic than the answer to this question here, but it's something you'd want to research further. Interesting thread. I have long eaten fruit in the morning and vegetables in the afternoon. The fruit has sugar and is acid. The vegetables are alkaline. Mixing them makes a lot of gas which smells. Now I have moved over to wheatgrass, I have cut out raw fish and the small amount of raw meat I ate. The raw game was to get the Omega 3. ...
