Belive it or not......

You and I are so much alike. It is just the way I have fun.

Look at my website some time. It is a duck without feathers....No Bio...no map...no reasons to drink fresh wheatgrass. The shoppping cart is SECURE but primitive.

Had a woman try our wheatgrass for the first time....she called and said after 19 years ours was the best she had ever tasted....she ate the FOAM with a spoon! And that WE now have a customer for life. Lives in the Gainsville Florida area(Archer).

I am a TROLL ...not a OGER! Helping people see the light about fresh wheatgrass is not always easy.....when freeze dried powdered and frozen are much quicker and take No clean up time.

When there are no more trees....and no more edible fish....and a bottle of drinkable water costs $10,000.oo!

Will the people who have made billions and trillions of $$$$ EAT there $100.oo bills!

My website is......

A duck without feathers....We have sold out for just about evry week for the past 3 years or so.

And when we have some extra we send it as a donation to Junge Jack Hanna's Columbus Ohio Zoo. For the past 4 years.

Look at Drelichwheatgrass.com Be sure your speakers are on. On the site the are no directions how to get here...or Bio....or reason's to drink wheatgrass. It is a plain and simple site......right now.

About your planting>>>Are the seeds FRESH and worthy of planting?

Did you soak them for say 7-10 hours? Over soaking can make them mushy and apt to get moldy.

Did you DRAIN the seeds and then soak them in a cool dark place for about 12 - 18 hours. Too much of a root sprout can break off and cause you to have a lower yeild. Always handle sprouted berries (seeds ) gently.

Next after planting them on top...did you moisten the grow mix first.....I do not mean make soup....just to the point where the mix is moist.

then plant on top of the mix....and keeeping them seeds moist for the FIRST two days should ( if you have decent wheatgrass seeds) start to pop up throughout the tray.

Good answer? So what did you do?

Ok, I did the sprouting but didnt cover it. I ended up covering it with soil again instead of another tray?
Did you use a tray?

I dont have any speakers. I have a book about covering the seeds. I went to your website. Your picture is the same as here.

If you look closely ....

One of the pictures at our nursery shows that the seeds that are planted on the bottom layer beneath the grown tryas are NOT covered at all.

When the weather is colder it can take an extra day or so to get sprouting....try not to wet the mix.....just keeep the seeds moist....after they sprout....then give the seds AND trays some water. The new sprouts will demand more moisture.

What book are you geting your growing instructions from?Do you have a digital camera? If so take pictures of your trays and email or post them.A picture is worth a thousand words towards explaining your growing issues. The first month of growing for me was ruff,I had serious mold issues at first. There is a learing curve to growing grass.Moisture control is usually the biggest problem. But in time youll have grass growing out your trays with the vibrancey of life.

Your affrimation of......

What I have explained to Shirley at least 4 times now....She seems to be going in all different directions....he said she said this book that book.

You are correct in the moisture factors of course...I think right now because the weather is much colder in her territiry the seeds are takinging LONGER to get where the "book " says they should be in growth.

If she is able to post a picture on this website of her trays....I will send you a gift certificate to somewhere nice to have dinner.

If you are stacking the sprouts with trays, they are covered with trays. You just dont use soil. I will cover with trays.

Again!!!!

It is NOT nessary to COVER the sprouts once they are planted.....In MOST cases it helps to cause MOLDing.....Als OVER watering after the sprouts are growing up.....will contribute to the mold.

Too much.....Too little ...Just right. Practice will get you there!

Are you covering your trays for the sake of emulating seeds planted under the soil?Doing so can be benaficial if done correctly. However using trays causes a mini greenhouse effect without the controls of a good greenhouse. Not being able to control moisture and aireation can be catastrofic as far as mold goes.Understanding growing techiechs from written words can be difficult and frustrating.Only through trial and error is true knowledge achieved.Good luck and happy growing!

Jj43.......

I plant my sprouted wheatgrass in open trays without covering them...at all.... In defused natural sunlight......Cloth ...newspaper.....trays ...covering up the seeds is rediculous and causes problems.

I do not give home growing advise on this forum to feel like a "Big Man " or to bolster my ego.

You are correct...most people do not understand the NEED for ventalation...movement of the static air flow through the grass and seeds to depleit moisture that will cause the molding effect.

Live and learn.

I belive you and Shirley live next door to each other.

For the next month it is ALL yours....I have started a time demanding project here in SUNNY Orlando Florida.

Please take turns ringing those Bells!

Drelichwheatgrass.com our 9th year.....getting the hang of it! See picture gallery.....in the central florida area...take a tour!

Most home growers and gardeners dont have a large greenhouse with diffused sunlight. And climate control and help to tend to the grass. To compare the two growing conditions would be foolish at best.

Well if the greenhouses is why one can keep it uncovered is like plastic on the outside with diffused sun. Thanks for sharing. Now I understand that if one doesnt have a plastic greenhouse, they need to cover it.

Your original questions was....

How to stop the perpetuation of Mold. I would say that the wheatgrass seeds have more inteeligence than YOU Shirley ...and JJ43 put together.

You may one day notice that NO MATTER where you are growing Ina green house or in your home or OUTSIDE with a difusing cover....Give or take two or three days of overcast or rainy weather.....COVERING The seeds during those conditions will increase the MOLD potential.....add warmer weather and you have one of the main reasons that many home growers GIVE UP...and go to freeze-dried man made or FROZEN(dead food) wheatgrass!

You two make a nice couple......neighbors I presume.

The HOT AND HUMID WEATHER IS....

HERE AGAIN!

Remember to space your trays about a foot apart....cut back on the water....

Rotting root systems cause the beginning of problems on top during hot and humids days....

Have PLENTY of VENTALATION....and grow indoors with the airconditioning pulling out the enemy.....MOISTURE! Or use osolating fans.

And do not over seed (layering seed on top of seed)>>>preventing MOLD is fun....and really very easy.

Growing wheatgrass is TOO much...NOT enough and getting it JUST RIGHT for your own particular climate.. PS>>>

If you grow in 2 inch deep trays.....FILL them to the top....Taller wheatgrass and BETTER root systems.

Did I forget anything.....?

Our 9th year!
